Cooperation to modernize and automate the work cycle of the Cairo Court of Appeal and provide its judicial services through the digital Egypt platform

Digital Egypt; Where the protocol aims to activate the role of information and communication technology to develop the litigation system by modernizing and mechanizing the work cycle of the Cairo Court of Appeal and its affiliated departments, archiving documents, documents and cases, and making available the judicial services provided by the court through various technological platforms.

The protocol was signed by Eng. Raafat Hendy, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Infrastructure Affairs, and Counselor/ Essam El-Din Farid, President of the Cairo Court of Appeal and member of the Supreme Judicial Council.

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, confirmed that a number of projects are being implemented in cooperation between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and judicial bodies, including a project Egypt’s digital justice, which aims to automate the courts and the technical and administrative assisting bodies of judicial bodies such as forensic medicine, the Experts Department, and others, in addition to the law enforcement project, which has been implemented in seven governorates and is being circulated in the rest of the governorates, as it aims at inter-integration between all litigation bodies since registration located in The police department and even the execution of judgments, as well as the implementation of a project to automate the work of the Public Prosecution, and another project in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice to convert pleadings and court proceedings into a written text, as well as a project for the use of artificial intelligence technology to assist judges; Pointing out the keenness of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to cooperate with the Cairo Court of Appeal by providing technological support; Expressing his aspiration for this cooperation to be a model to be followed and to be replicated in all judicial authorities. Farid, President of the Cairo Court of Appeal, member of the Supreme Judicial Council, said that the protocol aims to develop the judicial and administrative work of the Cairo Court of Appeal and achieve integration between the various litigation bodies, by starting to implement a number of projects, top of which is the project that is being completed, the electronic litigation project, as it is the nucleus for generalizing litigation procedures for A dimension to ensure an increase in the efficiency of the decision-making and implementation process, as well as the Egypt Digital Justice project, which aims to develop the infrastructure and automation of courts at the level of the Republic and provide a mechanism for linking between the court and the relevant judicial authorities; Noting that within the framework of the Cairo Court of Appeals carrying out its work through 20220309 a criminal, civil and family circuit, the implementation of this protocol is expected to serve nearly half a million litigants annually. 20220309 Counselor/ Ahmed Saeed Khalil, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Unit, expressed his happiness at signing this protocol. Stressing that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is a major partner and has an important role to achieve prompt justice; Expressing his aspiration to prepare proactive plans for all courts in the future to use information and communication technology in order to achieve prompt justice. The protocol: A number of projects will be implemented, namely the development of the information center of the Cairo Court of Appeal, and the unified electronic archive project of the Cairo Court of Appeal, which aims to use artificial intelligence techniques to build a central electronic repository and link it to a paper central repository in order to preserve and archive all cases that have been finalized, and indexed Its contents and the introduction of basic data and evidence for each case, in addition to the project of mechanizing judicial services provided by the court and making them available through the digital Egypt platform, where the litigation services provided by the court will be made available to citizens, such as the possibility of filing a lawsuit and following up its various procedures in all degrees of litigation via the Internet, especially the Egypt platform In order to save time and effort and reduce litigation expenses, in addition to providing internal services provided to court members on the Internet, such as providing a legal library for members of judicial bodies.

The protocol also includes a project to automate and manage sessions electronically and link them with the unified repository of Egypt’s digital justice, in addition to the institutional development project through the development and building of digital capabilities for both Cairo Appeal Court employees Or advisors, members of the Public Prosecution Office, and secretaries, by providing a package of specialized training programs using computers and the safe use of information technology to enable them to use modern technologies to communicate and exchange documents remotely and convert them into digital files.
