Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, witnessed, via video conference, the signing of a cooperation agreement between The Information Technology Industry Development Agency “ITIDA” and the University of Science Malaysia (USM) regarding granting a master’s degree in business analysis within the financial technology track to students enrolled in the Digital Egypt Builders initiative launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to build specialized digital competencies and refine them with a set of integrated skills through an academic program And my work is intense in cooperation with major international universities and specialized international companies in a way that enables them to implement Egypt’s digital projects and enhances its competitive capabilities in the global labor market.
USM was established in 1969 and is a leading multidisciplinary research university. Under the cooperation, the university’s faculty will provide courses in the business analysis program within the financial technology track, guide and advise students enrolled in the program, as well as suggest topics for students’ course projects and participate in project evaluation.
The duration of the study in the program is one year consisting of two semesters; It is possible to register in this program for outstanding graduates from a number of colleges and specializations such as economics, commerce, management, business administration, accounting, business information systems, marketing as well as engineering and computer science. The first batch of the program will start in March 2022, the second batch in March 2025 and the third batch in March 2026 The last batch will finish the program in February. 2026.
Following the signature; Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, confirmed that this agreement represents the first fruitful cooperation at the bilateral level between Egypt and Malaysia in the field of communications and information technology, and it is also the first agreement signed by the initiative in the field of financial technology by granting a master’s degree in business analysis, as this field is important large at the present stage; Pointing out that the Digital Egypt Builders initiative includes wide areas to serve the requirements of the labor market in the future; This cooperation will result in the addition of a financial technology specialization with a promising university in a friendly country known for its renaissance in the field of communications and information technology. Mr. Zamani Ismail, Ambassador of the State of Malaysia to Egypt, drew attention to the depth and diversity of relations and areas of cooperation within the framework of bilateral relations between Egypt and Malaysia, whether in the fields of trade, investment, security, information, culture and other fields; He explained that this agreement will add academic cooperation between the two countries. Noting the distinction of USM as a research university that provides high-quality educational services to students; He referred to the follow-up to the economic development in Egypt and welcomed the contribution to support the Egyptian competencies, especially in light of the distinction of a number of educational institutions in Malaysia, including the University of Malaysian Sciences, which is among the top five universities in Malaysia, in addition to being the number 39 on the world in the field of sustainable development, as it is the first in Malaysia in terms of employing graduates.

She stated that the global financial technology market is expected to grow gradually, reaching its value of nearly 324 billion dollars by the year 2026 with an annual growth rate of about 42% for the period from 2022-2027, and accordingly, the demand for this emerging field will be locally, regionally and internationally on a continuous increase, and employment opportunities are very promising for graduates of this field.
