A workshop was held with these companies to explain the system and explain how it works, and explain the steps for registering with the system, and the benefits that the system achieves in the short and long term, and through this workshop all the companies’ inquiries were also answered
Engineer “Yasser Taymour, Advisor to the Minister of Finance for the development of the Tax Authority” said that the Tax Authority has been witnessing development for a while, and this development is for him. , which is being followed up continuously by His Excellency the Minister of Finance and the higher political leadership in the Arab Republic of Egypt Pointing out that digital transformation is no longer an optional matter, but has become a reality and a fact that is dealt with not only by the government, but by the commercial and industrial community and the world at large, and the challenges that have emerged on the global scene recently confirm that digital transformation has become the only way to overcome these challenges, saying We do not aim to increase taxes or increase tax rates, but what we seek is to collect the tax properly by finding tools and means to implement the law fairly and to include the informal economy in the official economy of the state.
This came during the speech that It was delivered by the engineer “Yasser Taymour, advisor to the Minister of Finance for the development of the Egyptian Tax Authority” during a workshop organized by the Egyptian Tax Authority via video conference technology for a group of companies participating in the trial operation of the electronic receipt system in the presence of a company Microsoft, Ernst & Young, E Tax, and Evenance.
The selection of the companies participating in the trial operation of the electronic delivery system was based on criteria that were set to select the best, most cooperative and committed companies, To join the convoy of success partners in launching the system and benefiting from all the privileges of the candidates of this stage, stressing that the Egyptian Tax Authority considers the companies participating in this symposium among the first elite funders of the interest and partners of success. The trial operation of the electronic delivery system has the advantage of being the first in their fields who will have the opportunity to benefit from all means of technical support provided by all parties involved in the implementation of the project for the success of that stage, pointing out that the participating companies will be given precedence by being among the first to follow the future steps and benefit from their experiences and responses Their actions in improving and developing the system, adding that a phone support will be allocated, to receive and answer technical inquiries for companies and help solve any problems that may arise during implementation.
Engineer “Yasser Taymour” indicated that the electronic receipt system project is one of the digital transformation projects in the Ministry of Finance and the projects of the Egyptian Tax Authority, and it is a natural extension of the invoice system. This system is based on the establishment of a system to follow up all commercial transactions of goods and services between financiers and consumers, and this system is implemented through electronic integration with POS devices and automated accounting systems at Merchants and service providers, which helps in achieving the goals of the system and many advantages for the financier and the consumer.
He said that through the electronic receipt system we can determine the size of the actual economy and therefore we can prepare analytical data that benefit internal and external investments, as well as we can prepare Economic reports that help in taking decisions correctly, and there is a comprehensive view of all markets, industries, products, etc.
He added, “Advisor to the Minister of Finance to develop The Tax Authority stated that “the electronic receipt system project aims at digital transformation of commercial transactions, dealing with the latest technical methods, verifying the validity of the source data of the receipt and its contents in form, as well as unifying the form and content of the electronic receipt in dealing between the merchant and the final consumer, according to the nature of each activity, and achieving the principle of equal opportunities. And justice between companies operating in the Egyptian market, accelerating and facilitating examination procedures and laying a basis for electronic examination work, with the possibility of remote examination. The tax authority, pointing out that there will be no need in the future to submit sales receipt data in accordance with the regulations set by the Egyptian Tax Authority to provide the receipt data in light of keeping it in a central database at the Tax Authority. He added that the electronic receipt system project aims to facilitate and expedite tax procedures such as refunding tax at outlets, and contributing to the integration of the informal economy into the informal economy. In addition to improving the services provided to financiers to ensure the reduction of malpractices and tax evasion, as well as the elimination of the parallel market and the informal economy, determining its actual size, revealing it and urging it to enter into the formal economy, and creating an accurate and huge database for commercial transactions, which can be relied upon later in the application of systems Data analysis, decision support and artificial intelligence.

Regarding the short-term benefits that will accrue to companies after the application of the electronic receipt system, the engineer “Yasser Taymour” explained that it is represented in strengthening the tax position of the company by classifying it among the companies with low tax risks, updating and developing its method of issuing receipts, and verifying the validity of elements and data. Secondly, the system’s coding system by providing a statement of the codes used by the taxpayer in coding goods and services, whether by relying on a global coding system (GSI) or coding system (EGS), which is an internal coding system that is linked to the Classify the commodity group (GPC), and send this statement to the authority in a digital form to obtain the authority’s approval before using these codes (not required for registrants in the electronic invoice system and they use the same codes), pointing out that the authority must be contacted in case of adding item/service codes. Others to obtain the authority’s approval before using them on the electronic receipt system (in a period of no less than two weeks before the date of issuing receipts containing these codes.
