The Minister of International Cooperation meets with the Cameroonian Minister of Economy and the Nigerian Minister of Finance to discuss joint relations and discuss future areas of cooperation with the Arab Investment Guarantee Corporation

*The joint country strategy between Egypt and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development*

The Ministry of International Cooperation launched the country strategy with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the period from 2022 – 2022, with the participation and presence of all relevant parties from the relevant ministries and the private sector Civil society and a high-level delegation from the Bank headed by Mark Bowman, Vice President, and two memoranda of understanding in the field of green hydrogen, and inauguration of an advisory board for tourism to promote training and investment in human capital, and an agreement to inaugurate the Abu Qir metro with a value of 250 Million Euro.

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, visited the United Kingdom as part of discussions to strengthen Egyptian-British bilateral relations, as well as to meet with a number of international institutions.

During the visit, Al-Mashat held a number of From meetings with the senior management of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, where she met the Bank’s Board of Directors and gave a speech on joint cooperation between Egypt and the Bank, as well as the global challenges facing emerging countries, and Egypt’s hosting efforts for the climate conference. The President of the Bank, and her deputies to discuss future cooperation opportunities and review the economic and structural reforms undertaken by Egypt over the past years.

In the same context, Al-Mashat met with a number of senior management leaders, including Mr. Hassan Al-Khatib, Executive Director of Direct Financial Investments at the Bank, Ms. Nandita Parshad, Executive Director of Infrastructure at the Bank, Ms. Bayanat Javorsik, Chief Economist, and Ms. Ines Roca, Executive Director of Partnerships and Impact, and Ms. Barbara Rambosek, Director of Diversity and Economic Inclusion.

On the other hand, the Minister of International Cooperation met with a number of government officials and British development institutions, where he discussed with Lord Tariq Ahmed, Special Representative of the British Prime Minister and Minister of State for Commonwealth Affairs, the United Nations and North Africa, bilateral cooperation between Egypt and the United Kingdom, and development cooperation efforts The joint venture also met with the leaders of the British Development Corporation CDC and the British Export Credit Agency UKEF.

The Minister of International Cooperation also met the CEO of the Climate Investment Funds (CIF), a participant in the Financial Times Conference and the virtual conference of the Friends of Climate Action organized by the World Economic Forum, as well as the leaders of the Grantham Institute for Research on Climate Change and Environment, in the context of promoting Climate action and promoting Egypt’s efforts in the field of green transformation.

*The First National Forum for the Future of Work in Egypt*

Minister of International Cooperation, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, inaugurated the first national forum for the future of work in Egypt, which is organized by the German Agency for International Cooperation, within the framework of bilateral cooperation with the government, under the slogan “We work together for the future”, in the presence of the German ambassador in Cairo, Mr. Frank Hartmann, Major General Khairy Barakat, President of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, and many representatives of the relevant ministries.

*Development cooperation within the framework of Egypt’s presidency of the COP Climate Summit27*

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, met with the delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, headed by Mark Bowman, Vice President, and the African Development Bank delegation, headed by Mr. Kevin Kariuki, Vice President, where they discussed development cooperation within the framework of the presidency of Egypt. The Minister of International Cooperation also participated in the meeting that was held at the Ministry of Environment with Mr. Yannick Glemarec, Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund, to discuss issues related to the projects that will be financed by the Green Climate Fund, whether in the areas of adaptation or mitigation to support Egypt to confront climate change.

*Strengthening joint relations with the African continent*

In continuation of the efforts of development cooperation to achieve African integration and strengthen Egyptian relations with the countries of the continent, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, met with Dr. El-Amin Othman Mai, Minister of Economy of Cameroon, and Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, Minister of Finance of Nigeria, within the framework of their visit For Egypt to participate in the “third meeting of the Arab-African Trade Bridges Program Governance Council”, during which the two meetings discussed bilateral relations, and discussed ways to develop bilateral relations and advance areas of cooperation between the two countries.

*Meeting the Arab Investment Guarantee Corporation*

Al-Mashat received Mr. Abdullah Ahmed Al-Sabeeh – Director General of the Arab Corporation for Investment and Export Credit Guarantee and his accompanying delegation at the start of his visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, where the meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Corporation and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt, which is one of the countries The Corporation owns it and contributes to its capital, and discusses the mechanism of cooperation with the Corporation in relation to proposals for sovereign dollar bonds.

The Minister of International Cooperation participated in the opening of the (Export Smart) exhibition and forum, which is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of International Cooperation and the US Agency for International Development, within the framework of advancing bilateral relations between Egypt and the United States of America, and the Egyptian government’s keenness to develop economic relations with development partners, and the promotion of private sector investments.

The Minister of International Cooperation also delivered a speech via video, during the launch ceremony of the Youth Entrepreneurship Association, which is within the framework of the Sustainable Services Project for Small Enterprises funded by the US Agency for International Development.

*Celebrating International Women’s Day and Egyptian Women’s Day*

As part of the women’s empowerment events, the Ministry of International Cooperation and the Ministry of Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean in the United Kingdom organized a virtual event on empowering women and girls through the transition to a green economy, within the framework of the session’s activities

for the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, under the title “Achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls, within the context of programs and policies; To reduce the risks of climate change, environmental risks and disasters.”

Al-Mashat also participated in the first Microsoft summit on empowering women and enhancing their role in the technology sector, under the slogan “Empowered Women, Empowered Egypt,” coinciding with the celebrations of International Women’s Day.
