Signing the largest unified training agreement for students of 14 colleges and a higher institute of tourism with the Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) Egypt

In a precedent that is the first of its kind, the largest unified collective agreement was signed to train students of 14 College and the Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotels with the Intercontinental Hotels Group IHG Egypt on hotel business and hotel services through 20 a training program, in coordination with the Sinai Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotels in Ras Sidr.
The agreement provides practical training for students of colleges and institutes from the Department of Hotel Studies According to a unified training program in Intercontinental hotels in Egypt for a period of two full months, and aims to prepare promising generations of hotel workers, and provide good opportunities for their training. Tourism colleges and higher institutes, Dieter Frank, Regional General Manager of the Intercontinental Hotels Group IHG in Egypt and Africa, and hotel expert Nasser Fadly, Director of the Training and Human Resources Sector in the group. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Awad Abbas Ragab, Rapporteur of the Tourism Sector Committee at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Soha Bahgat, advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for training and Human Development, the official spokesperson for the ministry, and a group of professors of hotels and tourism, industry experts and tourism media in Egypt, and the agreement provides training for students for two months alternately. Ras Sidr for Environment and Community Service, that the tourism sector regulation approved by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, was behind this agreement when it granted colleges and institutes the ability to provide practical training opportunities in hotel and tourism facilities, indicating that the first phase of the agreement includes 14 A college and a higher institute for tourism and hotels, and it is expected that in the coming days some other colleges and higher institutes will join this agreement, which is an important achievement in the tourism education process and the qualification of its students to work in accordance with the requirements of the labor market.
For his part, Dr. Mustafa Al-Zaghal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sinai Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotels in Ras Sidr, and the supervisor of the agreement, said that the programs offered through this agreement keep pace with the international courses offered by international training institutions and administration. It saw international hotel brands such as Cornell, Lausanne and other institutions specialized in tourism training.
Al-Zaghal expressed his wishes that the higher tourism institutes would spread in every governorate of Egypt because of the tourism and archaeological elements that each governorate includes, which is beneficial to the people. The homeland is to raise the level of tourism awareness and to make the Egyptian society an incubator for tourism.
While Dr. Awad Abbas Ragab, Rapporteur of the Tourism Sector Committee at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, announced that the committee seeks to achieve a balance between graduates from tourism colleges and higher institutes, And between the needs of the labor market, referring to the adoption by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the tourism education regulation, which included modern specializations such as air hospitality, maritime and marketing, customer service, and managing sports and special events, indicating that a new specialization is currently being completed for these educational institutions for food health and safety. This is in cooperation with the Chambers of Hotel Establishments, and Tourist Establishments and Restaurants.
Awad emphasized that the new specializations in the tourism education sector, which are commensurate with the requirements of the times, are the only way out. D to confront unemployment in Egypt, and not limit graduates to work in the tourism sector and open horizons for them to work according to their specialties.
Dieter Frank, Regional General Manager of the IHG Group in Egypt and Africa, expressed his happiness with this agreement that looks forward to the future. It works to qualify students to work in the hotel sector and learn about the latest methods of work and hotel service, pointing out that his institution harnesses all its capabilities to implement customized programs, which number about
a diverse program, foremost of which is health and food safety, and improving tourism services provided to guests. And hotel pioneers.
The hotel expert, Nasser Fadly, Director of the Training and Human Resources Sector at the IHG Group in Egypt and Africa, announced that in order to facilitate the trainees, the group has Arabized scientific and practical programs and materials into Arabic alongside English. And that the group seeks to avoid all defects that occur in such courses, and to keep pace with similar courses abroad, expressing the group’s readiness to train students and graduates according to the latest international systems.
