The Minister of Higher Education inaugurates the building of the Faculty of Medicine at Luxor University
on the sidelines of a meeting The Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the building of the Faculty of Medicine, Luxor University, this Saturday morning, in the presence of Dr. Hamdi Mohamed Hussein, President of Luxor University, Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, and a group of university presidents and ministry leaders.
During the visit, the Minister reassured the regularity of the educational process in the college through the presence of faculty members, the supporting staff and students, as well as the readiness of the college laboratories to train students in practice, qualify them and refine them. Their skills and experience to be able to deal with patients and relieve their pain.
The minister inspected the general site of the university campus, as well as the new electronic examination center, as well as the site of the university hospital that is being established in the city of Taibah, which will be a strong addition to the health care system and serving the people of Upper Egypt.
Dr. explained. Hamdi Mohamed Hussein, President of Luxor University, stated that the area of the general site of the Faculty of Medicine at Luxor University is 12 thousand square meters, of which 2500 square meters the area of the college building, and the college includes 250 department, including 10 Academic departments inside the new building, and it contains three lecture halls, and an “OSCE” clinical examination hall, which is the first of its kind at the level of Egyptian universities. In addition to an electronic examination center with a capacity of 250 students.
The President of the University added that the Faculty of Medicine at Luxor University includes a number of 12 laboratories, including the Alex “first communication simulator” laboratory, which helps train students on how to deal with the patient, and the sceen Lab, and the laboratories are distinguished by providing them with the latest technological devices and high technologies, The college also includes an anatomy museum, 12 a classroom, and 20 a faculty room, and 12 an administrative office, as well about processing a The college has places equipped for people with special needs, to help students of determination achieve academic achievement in an appropriate educational environment, in addition to allocating 7.5 acres, for the establishment of the University Hospital in Taibah, which will be a strong addition to the health care system and service to the people of Upper Egypt.
Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media advisor and spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education, said that the Faculty of Medicine at Luxor University signed several cooperation protocols to develop and support the health system in Luxor Governorate and train students practically until the completion of the establishment of the university hospital, including the signing of a cooperation protocol with the Fever Hospital, so that the hospital can benefit from the expertise of members of the Board of Directors. Teaching at the college, training students of the hospital’s medical college, under the supervision of faculty members, as well as signing a cooperation protocol with Karnak International Hospital, the Health Care Authority, and Shefaa Al-Orman Hospital for Oncology, with the aim of enhancing joint cooperation for the benefit of the health system in the province.
