The Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Health Care, chaired by Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, Assistant Minister of Health and Population, General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, confirmed participation in the initiative of the President of the Republic to examine those who are about to get married within the framework of ensuring Egypt is free from communicable diseases, reduce mortality rates resulting from non-communicable diseases, and in an effort to reduce the chances of future generations being exposed to genetic diseases, where the Board of Directors of the Authority decided to participate in the initiative through the centers and units of family medicine and hospitals affiliated to the Authority in the governorates of comprehensive health insurance, stressing the keenness to ensure the success of all health initiatives And the implementation of the assignments of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.
This came during the chairmanship of Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, the monthly meeting of the Board of Directors No. (58), where the meeting reviewed the most important outputs of the Authority’s participation in the ARAB HEALTH exhibition and conference 2023 in Dubai, which resulted in the signing of 3 cooperation agreements, the first with the INTERNATIONAL SOS group to expand the authority’s customer base of international patients, and the second with the Swedish company ELEKTA to exchange experiences and establish an academy at Al-Nasr Specialist Hospital in Port Said for training in the latest methods of diagnosing and treating tumor patients, and the third with Saudi Elaj Group to provide medical services to expatriates from the Arab Gulf countries for treatment in Egypt and to enhance competitive opportunities in the field of medical tourism.
It also included discussing cooperation with the companies “Selat Business Solutions for RCM Revenue Cycle Management, DEDALUS for Automation and Digital Transformation of Services, and ACCUMED to establish an academy in the field of clinical coding to graduate batches of highly qualified medical coders,” in addition to visiting the pavilions of companies specialized in Health technology and digital transformation of services at the Arab Health Exhibition and Conference, as well as a visit to Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi to view operating systems and modern medical technologies globally.
The meeting discussed strengthening relations with the corresponding health authorities in the Arab countries and the world, to unify the methodology and philosophy in the work of health care, and raise the level of service by exchanging distinguished experiences in various fields of health care, the most important of which is the digital transformation of services and their conformity with international standards, and encouragement to increase investments in health care in Egypt, and the continuity of upgrading the services provided in the facilities of the Health Care Authority, to ensure the highest level of quality services for citizens.
The Board of Directors of the Authority agreed, in principle, to conclude a twinning agreement with the Dubai Health Authority, in all areas of providing advanced health care services, digital transformation of services, continuing medical education, and medical tourism, as Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky confirmed that it will become A good platform for the beginning of international cooperation, pointing to the authority’s endeavor to conclude twinning agreements and many partnerships during the coming period, in order to exchange expertise and successful experiences, and encourage increased investments in health care in Egypt.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky assigned the executive management to form a specialized unit to monitor and follow up on the implementation of cooperation agreements and protocols, to ensure the implementation of what was stated therein and to achieve the maximum benefit from them.
During the meeting, the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Health Care, headed by Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky, thanked the former Board of Directors of the Health Accreditation and Control Authority for the efforts it made under the chairmanship of Dr. Ashraf Ismail, and congratulated Dr. Ahmed Taha on his appointment as Chairman of the Health Accreditation and Control Authority And congratulations to Dr. Mohamed Latif on his appointment as CEO of the Egyptian Health Council.
During the meeting, the Board of Directors of the Authority agreed to receive the residents of North Sinai governorate who are registered in the comprehensive health insurance system in Ismailia for treatment in all governorates of the application of the system, to provide them with comprehensive medical and therapeutic care services under the umbrella of the system, until the system is activated in North Sinai Governorate.
The meeting discussed the financial regulations for the Technical Care Institutes for Nursing affiliated with the Health Care Authority in the governorates of the comprehensive health insurance, where Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky directed the formation of a committee for further legal and technical study to prepare a final framework for the financial regulations, and to review the financial rules, and the committee may seek the assistance of what it deems appropriate. to perform its functions.
Sobki directed the establishment of a bylaw that includes all regulations related to the Board of Directors and its powers, the Executive Council and its powers, and other technical, administrative and financial regulations and rules regulating work, in line with the stage of institutional maturity of the Authority.
