Juhayna promotes women’s economic empowerment through “Heya Komanda”

Fouad: We believe in the vital role that women play and the importance of their participation in the development of society, so the company is intensifying its efforts to empower women inside and outside the company as a whole.
Juhayna Food Industries celebrated the International Women’s Month through various activities, including its participation in the seventh edition of the “She can” forum Dedicated to female entrepreneurs. Basant Fouad, Head of External Relations Sector at Juhayna, moderated a discussion session that brought her together with some of the beneficiaries of her community program “She is the Commandant” to talk about the program’s objectives and give them the opportunity to see the details of their experience in the program. Juhayna also recently participated in the first edition of the Micro-insurance Conference within the framework of financial inclusion and sustainable development, organized by the Egyptian Insurance Federation, through which it reviewed its efforts to empower women internally and externally.
The “Heya Al-Comanda” program aims to support and empower women and create a permanent source of income for them, by distributing the company’s products in Upper Egypt Specifically in Beni Suef, where the program comes in cooperation between Juhayna and the United Nations Women, by holding training courses for participating women to explain how to trade products, clarify the pricing process, manage capital and prepare income/expenditure statements. The project has achieved great success, and the participating women were able to achieve a growth rate of
% in their total sales within 8 months.
Basant Fouad, Head of External Relations Sector at Juhayna Company, said: “That Juhayna’s interest in women comes in line with its constant keenness to provide meaningful community initiatives that focus on community development and improving the lives of individuals, so we launched the “Heya Al-Comanda” program in 2020 To promote the economic empowerment of women and help them to be an effective component between their family and society as a whole. The program will also give us the opportunity to provide the company’s products to reach a larger number of consumers and meet their needs. We aspire to increase the number of women beneficiaries and look forward to launching multiple phases of the program in the next phase to become a pioneering and unique model for women’s support programs.” Fouad added that Juhayna believes in the vital role played by women and the importance of their participation in the development of society, so the company is intensifying its efforts to empower women inside and outside the company. She said: “Externally, Juhayna’s support for women extends outside the company’s scope as well. For example, the company was and still is the main supporter and sponsor of the Baheya Foundation for Early Detection and Treatment of Breast Cancer, which contributed to receiving ,16 case during For the past six years, we have been working on completing Baheya Hospital in Sheikh Zayed. This is in addition to our contribution to raising awareness to combat violence against women by supporting the 162 campaign on Monday Activities of the National Council for Women.”
