The final statement of the General Secretariat and the Supreme Council of the Arab Doctors Union

Patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister of the Lebanese Republic, Mr. Najib Mikati With the generous hosting of the Lebanese Medical Syndicate – Tripoli, the meetings of the General Secretariat and the Supreme Council of the Arab Doctors Union were concluded under the chairmanship of His Excellency Dr. Salim Abi Saleh, President of the Supreme Council of the Union and the Syndicate of Doctors of Lebanon – Tripoli, and Dr. The period from 2021 – 03 March
AD which was held at Beirut Arab University – Tripoli.
Where Prof. Dr. Osama Raslan, Secretary-General of the Union, reviewed the reports of the Executive Committees of the Union during the year 2021, in addition to discussing the activities and events of the committees and centers affiliated to the Federation, most notably the role of the Arab Institute for Sustainable Professional Development “Ma’ammad” in the development of medical cadres in the Arab world and Dr The relief and development sector has been involved in providing medical and humanitarian assistance in various afflicted areas, especially in Somalia, Burma and Yemen. The activities of the Arab Center for Health Awareness “Wa’i” and the Arab Center for Combating Blindness “Ibsar” and Ma’ak Centers for Child Care were reviewed, in addition to what was accomplished in The Arab Authority for the Accreditation of Professional Programs, in addition to the activity of the Department of Information and International Cooperation, where the website of the Federation was launched after updating it and reviewing the Arab Doctors magazine in its new dress.
With regard to the health conditions in the member states and the challenges facing the health system, and after listening and reviewing the reports submitted by some member states, the Arab Doctors Union expressed its full solidarity with the Arab governments and peoples and worked to provide health needs and humanitarian aid in all its forms, as well as The Union calls upon the importance of standing with them and supporting them, especially the health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories, which have been going through real crises over the past decades. Their deepest thanks and appreciation to the State of the Prime Minister to the public The Lebanese community, Mr. Najib Mikati, for sponsoring this meeting, and to the government and people of Lebanon for their warm reception and hospitality. The conferees also thanked the Assistant Secretary-General in Lebanon, Dr. Ahmed Al-Bush.
The Supreme Council of the Union also issued a number of other decisions, including the election of the President of the Lebanese Doctors Syndicate – Tripoli, Dr. Salim Abi Saleh, as President of the Supreme Council of the Union for a period of two years, to succeed Dr. Omar Ayyash, whose term as president of the Council has ended, and the activation of The role of assistant secretaries in the Arab countries for all the activities and events of the Arab Doctors Union and its various sectors, especially the Arab Authority for the Accreditation of Professional Programs, and the importance of activating the role of medical associations and societies in the Arab world, and the adoption of remote means of communication as a means for meetings of the Supreme Council and decision-making. The Supreme Council also praised the judicial rulings issued by the Egyptian judiciary that did justice to the union, and demanded that the Council submit them to the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
The Council also decided that the Arab Institute for Sustainable Professional Development be “accredited” and the Arab Authority A mechanism for accrediting professional programs is independent administrative units of a special nature that work under the umbrella of the Arab Doctors Union. The Supreme Council has been authorized to accept or reject membership requests for medical bodies that wish to obtain membership in the Federation, and the Supreme Council has also agreed to form a membership committee that includes the Secretary-General, the President of the Supreme Council and an Assistant Secretary-General, and this committee has the right to include whomever it deems appropriate. At the conclusion of the Council’s meetings, the request for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to host the next General Secretariat meeting during the year was approved
and the Algerian Republic’s hosting of the meetings of the General Secretariat and the Supreme Council in March
It is worth noting that on the sidelines of the meetings of the Supreme Council, Dr. Moaz Arabiyat, Assistant Secretary-General for Jordan, presented the shield of the Jordanian Medical Association to Prof. Dr. Osama Raslan, Secretary-General of the Union, and Dr. Salim Abi Saleh, President of the Federal Supreme Council.
