During the meeting; Dr. Amr Talaat stressed the distinction and strength of bilateral relations between Egypt and Japan on the political and economic levels. Explaining the state’s efforts to establish an integrated digital society and build a digital Egypt; Expressing his aspiration to cooperate with Japan in the field of communications and information technology through exchanging experiences and transferring knowledge to localize technology.

This is in light of the implementation of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s strategy to build digital capabilities for various segments of society and according to multiple levels. Mechanisms for supporting cooperation with Japanese universities specialized in the fields of communications and information technology and the Egypt Informatics University established by the Ministry in the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital were also discussed, as well as with the Builders initiative. Digital Egypt, which was launched to grant master’s degrees in in-depth technological specializations.
