The Ministers of Higher Education, Communications and Information Technology witness the signing of a cooperation protocol to establish the “Digital Egypt Creativity Center” at Tanta University via video conference

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, via video conference, signed a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Tanta University, in the presence of Dr. Mahmoud Zaki, President of the University; With the aim of establishing the Digital Egypt Creativa Center at Tanta University to develop the skills of young students and graduates of the university and the neighboring region, and to qualify them for the requirements of the local and international labor market in the field of information technology and entrepreneurship.

And the price of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar signing the protocol, which comes as a continuation of the joint cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Egyptian universities and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology; With the aim of establishing digital innovation centers in Egyptian universities, which contribute directly to spreading awareness among university students of the developments of information and communication technology and its specializations, providing them with the required skills in this field, and qualifying cadres specialized in the field of digital transformation in line with the requirements of the labor market in information technology and entrepreneurship; He praised the choice of Tanta University, which mediates the Delta region and serves a large residential area, noting that this choice comes within the expansion of the participation of Egyptian universities in providing services to its geographical surroundings. The Minister also directed the organization of joint field visits, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications, to the innovation centers that are being established within the protocol of joint cooperation between the two sides to follow up on their work, fulfill the conditions for their establishment, and provide them with the necessary capabilities to ensure that they fulfill the role entrusted to them.


Dr. Abdel Ghaffar thanks the Ministry of Communications for its cooperation in implementing digital innovation centers within Egyptian universities, pointing to the continuation of this cooperation to reach all Egyptian universities in the different governorates, and to complete achieving the goal of establishing a creative center in each university.
For his part; Expressed d. Amr Talaat expressed his happiness at signing this protocol with Tanta University, which is distinguished by having a base of young people and trained cadres; He explained that this cooperation aims to provide technical training and sponsor technological innovation for university students and graduates, within the framework of constructive cooperation between the Ministries of Communications and Information Technology, Higher Education and Scientific Research to establish Egypt’s digital innovation centers in universities. Pointing out that the launching of centers is being expanded continuously in order to reach the establishment of a center in each governorate; So far, seven Digital Egypt Creativity Centers have been established last year, and work is currently underway to establish 823 others.

Amr Talaat said that Egypt’s Digital Innovation Centers aim to prepare young talents trained in the fields of communications and information technology, in addition to creating an environment stimulating creativity and supporting entrepreneurs, while providing specialized training for those in charge of these companies, and setting up forums for networking between them and investors.
Dr. Amr Talaat indicated that Egypt’s digital innovation centers are being established within or near universities to achieve integration with the academic community in a way that enriches the training process, refines youth experiences, and enhances the university’s role in creating innovative solutions that serve the economy of the governorates in which it is located and address the societal challenges it faces.

For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Zaki thanks the Ministries of Higher Education and Communications for their continuous support to establish the Digital Creativity Center, and his happiness that Tanta University has joined this project, indicating his keenness to implement the center with the highest quality, pointing out that the university has provided the facilities necessary to implement the project, and provide the necessary support in terms of material and human capabilities. To become a center of excellence in providing services to university students and qualifying cadres specialized in digital transformation; He added that the protocol aims to qualify university students for the local and global labor market, and prepare cadres that contribute to supporting and developing the ICT industry, in addition to spreading a culture of technological innovation and entrepreneurship. The protocol aims to establish, manage and operate a permanent headquarters to be the center of Digital Egypt Creativity on the campus of Tanta University with the aim of qualifying young students and graduates of the university and universities in neighboring regions for the local and international labor market, and preparing cadres that contribute to supporting And the development of the information and communication technology industry, and the provision of specialized training services to prepare trainers from faculty members in the relevant faculties, in addition to contributing to spreading awareness and identifying the latest developments and technologies in information and communication technology, its specializations and the skills required for it, and spreading a culture of technological creativity and entrepreneurship, and the establishment and organization of conferences. Hackathons and competitions specialized in the latest technologies that support knowledge transfer and creativity.

The protocol also aims to support the transformation of innovative ideas. For young people dependent on information technology Matt and communications to commercial products or services, and prioritizing the beneficiaries of the academic community (students, alumni, and faculty members) from Tanta University within the framework of the various axes of the center’s work plans; As well as developing learning and training mechanisms through the innovative use of information and communication technology.


The cooperation protocol was signed by Eng. Raafat Hindi, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Infrastructure Affairs, and Dr. Mahmoud Zaki, President of Tanta University.
